Born in Trieste in 1989, Irene Brigitte completed her Master’s Degree in Renaissance and Baroque Singing at the Conservatoire “Arrigo Pedrollo” in Vicenza, under the guidance of Gemma Bertagnolli. Currently, she is enrolled in the Artistic Studies PhD program at the University of Coimbra, focusing on 16th-century sung poetry in Portuguese. Her ensemble cantar poesia is the artistic expression of this academic research in Cech.
As well as a classical interpreter, Irene also pursues a career as a singer and songwriter. Noteworthy are her soundtrack for the short film “The Sleeping Saint” (2016), selected and screened by the Cannes Festival; the recording directed by Claudia Caffagni of Du Fay’s mediaeval mass “Se la face ay pale” (2017, Amadeus); the participation in the “WAV – Women Against Violence” compilation (2018, Cabezon Records); the collaboration with the ensemble Arte Minima in the production of the albums “Lusitano Liber primus epigramatum” (2025, Pan Classics), “Missa O Beata Maria” (2023, Pan Classics) and “In splendoribus” (2021).
Irene’s voice is deep-rooted in both folk-pop music and Baroque repertoire. She is active as in the area of popular music (having performed at various festivals, such as
Suoni di Marca, the Great Yonder, Aeson, Abilitante Social Fest, Stazione di Topolò, and Nuove Impressioni) as in the area of Early Music (has sung as soloist and as chorister in marvelous placese such as the Milan’s Cathedral, the Olympic Theatre of Vicenza, Teatro Dal Verme and Casa da Música of Porto).
